⏰My bad, and it's been way too long!!

The old saying goes that "time flies when you're having fun;" but, sometimes, not. I know it's been quite a while since a blog has been posted. All I can say is that things have been really crazy around here. Joel and I had fun on our January cruise; however, even after following my "nix the germs" procedure to the letter, I still got sick! Add to that the fall I took on the way back from Rome and the result was not great. Luckily, I didn't break anything (including nails!); and the cough lasted almost two months. (I know many of you have experienced the same thing.) The spring boutique season is finally over, and my living room no longer looks like Knit Me Sew Me's warehouse. Most importantly, I finally organized my yarn closet after having a serious meltdown while looking for a specific skein. Now, I can concentrate on moving forward!!

Here's what's new in the Knit Me Sew Me universe.

Another Successful Repair

Tamar contacted me through Knit Me Sew Me's Google Business Profile. The bottom of the ribbing of a beautiful sweater coat she purchased at Anthropologie had started to come apart. She brought the coat by and below are the before, during and after photos of a very successful repair. Thank you, Tamar, for trusting me with your beautiful sweater coat.

Not only was Tamar thrilled, she purchased Easter goodies and a pair of fingerless gloves! Here's a photo of Tamar's Easter goodies all put together.

Knit Me Sew Me in the Marketplace

I was honored to be featured in a recent edition of Voyage LA. Here is the link to check it out!! https://voyagela.com/interview/meet-alise-kabakoff-of-west-hills

I was a guest on a wonderful podcast hosted by Mamina Das of Holistic Conversations PodCast. We had a great time chatting! Take a look!

I was also a guest on Carolyn Hobbs' "Chit Chat" podcast. She asked me only one question, and I was truly amazed how that one question was all we needed!

Is this the cutest photo ever?

Lucky Ducky's Grand European Cruise

Lucky Ducky's third trip to Europe was nothing short of amazing. A new video drops every Monday on YouTube. Here is the link to the playlist: https://studio.youtube.com/playlist/PLCQrkctvglyFACs24p9sKCQjT2EBWNfOa/edit.

I have a new helper!!

Things have gotten to the point where I can no longer make everything myself (yay!). You may know that I have a twin sister, Sharon. I put on my "teacher" hat and taught her how to crochet. She has taken to this like a Lucky Ducky to water! Her skills are definitely up to Knit Me Sew Me standards, and she is working on several projects and doing an amazing job.  She also has given me ideas for new products and a different perspective.

On this note, I would like to ask you to chime in. What products would you like to see from Knit Me Sew Me? Please send along any ideas you may have.

What's been on my needles and crochet hooks?

April starts the "big work" time of year. Between now and the middle of September, creating inventory for the fall/holiday season is #1 on the "to-do" list. So what am I working on now? Scarves, scarves, and more scarves. Almost all of the scarves sold last year, which was fantastic. As you know, almost every scarf is a one-of-a-kind; and customers are appreciating that they are purchasing a work of art that no one else in the world will have. Three are finished, and another one is in the works!

And finally

Almost 60 years of using my hands for knitting, crocheting, sewing and typing has finally caught up with me. I'm having carpel tunnel surgery on one hand shortly and the other in May. My surgeon told me that this will not sideline me for very long, and there's always lots of other Knit Me Sew Me things to do. It will be wonderful not to wake up in the middle of the night with stabbing "pins and needles!"

Spring is the season of growth and renewal and a welcome respite from what's going on all over the world. During these turbulent times, it's really important to practice self-care; and if necessary, lean on loved ones and friends for support. I hope you have a wonderful spring, filled with joy, happiness, and laughter.

Take care and be well.

Until next time.

Alise
