Knit With Me Sew With Me

Updated: Feb 14

I love being a creative!! At the Calabasas Pumpkin Festival in October 2021, I met Kristine. She ordered two Tiger hats for her boys and asked if I could recreate a hat for her that she purchased in San Francisco years ago. When she came to pick up the Tiger hats, she brought the hat that she wanted recreated.

I took a piece of parchment paper, traced the hat so the sizing would be correct and wrote the pattern, which appears below. Yes, it’s definitely messy, but it works! I made her six beautiful hats at the beginning of 2022.

Fast forward to the end of 2022. Kristine called and wanted six more hats to match some of her coats. I completed them and sent them to her a couple of weeks ago. She was nice enough to send photos of her modeling each hat with the matching coat, which were compiled into this fun video.

This is why I do what I do. To create these one-of-a-kind hats for Kristine makes my heart soar. Any time I receive a request for something out of the ordinary, I try my hardest to make it happen.

Happy Valentine's Day from the Knit Me Sew Me family to yours.

Another Knit Me Sew Me Testimonial - The Hello Kitty hat is one of the many kids hats from Knit Me Sew Me. Zachery McGivens ordered one for his daughter, and he writes - "I gave on of her hats as a gift and they love it."

So Many Projects, So Little Time - If you’re like me, you probably have a huge to do list and you don’t know where to start! It’s frustrating being pulled in many different directions and not being able to concentrate all your time on one thing, do that one thing right and then move on. Drives me totally nuts!!

Well, at one time, that was me. I had five or six different knitting and crocheting projects going on at the same time, and I would be literally driving myself crazy trying to figure out what I wanted to do first, then second and on and on. It just seemed like a daunting task to try to get everything done.

So, after having a “yarn” meltdown, I decided enough was enough and that I would do no more than two projects at a time. Now, 99% of the time, it’s one project at a time. This way I can finish something, cross it off my list and move on to the next project. Some people like a variety, so if you want to have one or two that’s okay; but once you get into three, four, five, six, or more, you'll be less likely to finish any of them because the task is just overwhelming.

My advice is to start small, one project at a time, get that finished, and move on to the next one. Believe me, you’ll be more productive and in the long run get more done. Want to see more? View the So Many Projects, So Little Time video on Knit Me Sew Me’s YouTube channel.
