There are definite differences between items that are handmade compared with those that are mass-produced/machine-made.
Three differences are:
creativity,
uniqueness, and
quality.
When you create something yourself, you can let your imagination run wild.
The video describes the afghan my mom crocheted over 60 years ago.
The story is there was a yarn store near our house in Phoenix, and my mom wanted a project. She decided to make an afghan out of her favorite earth-tone colors. As she was making it, I begged and pleaded with her to let me help. She finally relented, and I was able to crochet parts of some of the strips.
That afghan kept her warm until she passed away in 2010. Now, I have the afghan and it’s proudly displayed in my home office. The moral of the story is to always go with handmade. You will definitely get your money’s worth from something created with expertise and heart.
